This is a renewal project of an old wooden public bath in Machida-City that’s in the suburbs of Tokyo. The situation in the suburb is different from an inner city, it is said that a competitor shop is a so-called Super-Sento. It’ll be important that to differentiate with a Super-Sento on this project. As a result, we went through the opposite way to the neighborhood Super-Sento. In OHKURA-YU, it’s possible to enjoy the quiet bathing space where are no noises from the equipment. There is nothing but the high/medium/cold different temperature bath-tubs. Also they deliver the quality hot bathwater made from a water softner. The bath-house for enjoying space and hot water simply. Though there are old characteristics of a Sento, it was made with a design concept aiming at the state like ” local bath-house in hot spring area “.
