KUAPALACE-FUJI

Terrarium Sento
Design concept developed by emphasizing the uniqueness of the existing facility

The two families who are managing the Kuapalace-Fuji had met on the shore of Chiba prefecture. One of the characteristics of the Kuapalace-Fuji was it had “an aquarium and many plantations.” The families who run the Kuapalace-Fuji are themselves outdoor people. Expanding upon this feature, the renovating concept was set to the “Terrarium Sento” Terrarium is a kind of space that mimicks the global environment with its condensed elements. This work is an attempt to match the concept of Terrarium with the Sento designing. Water, air, wood, green, sky and soil. We valued the texture of the material that reminds us of the Earth.
